Yes. Occasionally, a student may be selected to receive a scholarship from more than one Community Foundation scholarship fund.
Most scholarships require letters of recommendation. Please read each scholarship description for specific criteria. Students should request letters of recommendation from teachers, coaches, advisors, employers, business associates, counselors, mentors, etc. Letters from family members or friends are not recommended. Yes! checks are paid to the applicants
Not all scholarships are renewable. If the scholarship you received is renewable, you must contact the Foundation if you plan to re-enroll for the following year. The Foundation typically requires an unofficial transcript before considering any renewals. It is essential to do this early so that others can receive a scholarship if you do not plan on continuing your studies.
Scholarship awards will be made between May and July. If selected, you will be notified at honors convocation
Typically, scholarship funds will be used for tuition, books, fees, and other appropriate educational expenses.

Each essay is read and reviewed as part of the selection process. It is essential that the applicant address the points highlighted in the personal statement section of the application; correct spelling and grammar will be considered in scoring.
The personal statement may be the most challenging part of your application. But, it is also where you can stand out from the crowd. The key to writing a strong statement is to be personal and specific. Include details you feel comfortable sharing about yourself so the reader can know who YOU are and what you stand for. Be truthful and honest.
The Foundation strongly encourages all scholarship recipients to thank donors who generously assist with higher education scholarships. Address a thank you note to the “Scholarship Advisory Committee” name of the scholarship you received, and email to ccefdh@ccefdh.org or mail it to:
